Minneapolis
Minneapolis [Minneapolis] BrE NAmE
the largest city in the US state of ↑Minnesota. It is an industrial port near the northern end of the ↑Mississippi River. The river separates it from ↑St Paul, Minnesota, and they are together called the ‘twin cities’. Minneapolis was settled in 1847 and became a town in 1867. It is an agricultural centre for the northern ↑Middle West. Other companies there make computers and provide health services.
