ˈV-sign [V-sign V-signs] BrE NAmE noun
a sign that you make by holding up your hand and making a V-shape with your first and second fingers. When the ↑palm (= inside part) of your hand is facing away from you, the sign means ‘victory’; when the ↑palm is facing towards you the sign is used as a way of being rude to other people.
